I’ve never been in before. What will my first visit be like?
On your first visit, there will be a short intake form to fill out. Once that’s done, we’ll talk about what brings you to the art of massage, whether you’ve got some rusty joints, a muscle or two that’s squeaky, need some space to turn off the think tank, or any reason in between. Every session starts with a check-in to see how we can be the most effective that day. Gentleness and peace is my goal.
Where are you located?
I travel to you, whether you’re in hospice care, working with a death doula, or just looking for some extra comfort as you begin the ending journey in the comfort of your own home.
What does a session with you entail?
I offer 30 minute massages for those who are bed bound or limited in mobility. A session will focus on compression, range of movement, effleurage (a gentle technique designed for relaxation and increased blood flow) and a focus on the arms, legs, and head. As there are many challenges at the end of life, whether it be due to illness or anxiety, my sessions focus on gentle movement and touch.
What if I have to reschedule? Or even to cancel?
Don’t worry, we’ll work it out! Time is a valuable resource, yours and mine. Please make sure that you contact me as soon as possible if you need to reschedule or cancel. This will give time to offer the time slot to another client or make other arrangements. This journey is precarious and I understand that things may come up without warning. Each case will be handled with care, and I reserve the right to enforce the cancellation policies in each circumstance. Cancellations made on the same day as the scheduled appointment may be subject to a 50% cancellation fee. Cancellations made 2 hours prior to the scheduled appointment time are subject to a 100% cancellation fee.
